BYOD - You can’t stop it.

Consumer  demand is driving the apps market.

In IANS’ April Enterprise Client Briefing, Faculty Hart Rossman pointed out that Apple’s AppStore doubled its offering to almost 300,000 apps by the end of 2010 and Google's Android Market is now 6 times the size it was last year. So do we see the apps market going away? Quite the contrary. This is a growth market that offers individuals and small businesses increased opportunity as the market matures and as even more consumers carry smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices yet to be invented or mass produced.

The real question here, according to IANS Faculty Randy Sabett, is should we be constraining mobile apps developers, provided the consumer has given their consent to the sharing of their information?

How do we deal with this balance inside of our organizations in terms of BYOD (it’s here. You can’t stop it)?
