issues facing organizations

BOSTON, MA (December 1, 2008) — IANS, a leading research company focused on information security, regulatory compliance and information technology risk management, proudly announces the addition of nine security industry experts to its already impressive roster of faculty members, bringing the total to 26. The expertise of the nine additional faculty members will strengthen IANS’ ability to address the newest information security issues facing information security teams in 2009. “Our unique research method and the consultative nature of our work for security practitioners and vendors, requires a collective assembly of industry thought leaders and experts,” said Jack Phillips, co-founder and CEO. “These nine new faculty members will help us extend our knowledge base into topics that are grabbing the attention of the industry.”

The Role of IANS Faculty
The IANS faculty team plays a critical role in IANS’ peer-based research methodology. Faculty members facilitate conversations among IT security practitioners at live events, by telephone, and online. Each faculty member brings expert facilitation skills to drive conversations that generate proprietary research insights for practitioners and vendors alike.

IANS pioneered regional, interactive Information Security Forums aimed at serving the immediate needs of security practitioners. In these highly interactive conferences, which are modeled after a case-based, business school teaching method, there is an emphasis on expert-led, real-world discussions that draw upon the experience and expertise of participants to drive insights to new levels. The IANS faculty members play a key role in drawing out conversations, identifying themes and trends, and analyzing common issues among Forum participants.

“This esteemed group of experts is the ‘Intel Chip’ inside our research engine. They represent a substantial competitive advantage for IANS, and are an invaluable resource for our members and clients,” commented Phillips.
