IANS Experiencing Increased Demand for High-Value Research and Consulting; Hires Recognized IT Security Veteran Adam Cardinal and Partners with E-Secure-IT and Evanta
Former CISO for a large financial services organization with 20 years experience in information security maintains deep knowledge and understanding of technology, evolving threat landscape, risk management and IT governance for new role as Principal Consultant, Information Security and Risk Management
BOSTON, MA (November 10, 2009) IANS (originally the Institute for Applied Network Security), a unique research and membership organization serving the risk management and IT security industries, today announces the appointment of Adam Cardinal and partnerships with two service providers –
E-Secure-IT and
Evanta, in response to client demand for more robust and expansive service offerings.
A 20-year veteran of the information security industry and a former divisional CISO of Fidelity Investments (Brokerage Division), Cardinal joins IANS’ faculty and will lead the organization’s growing consulting practice in the newly formed position of Principal Consultant, Information Security and Risk Management. Having held positions with both private and public companies, supervised engagements with federal and state regulatory agencies and external auditors, overseen complex risk, security and compliance projects, Cardinal is uniquely qualified to serve the IANS’ client base – both the IT vendor and information security teams of major organizations. He will provide up-to-date research and observations on the ever-changing corporate IT security landscape and ensuring the delivery of unrivaled consulting services, which include a focus on compliance and regulations, vendor management and outsourcing, IT governance, identity and access management, policy development, standards and risk management.
“With the economy beginning to show signs of improvement, we believe technology spending will rebound in early 2010,” stated Jack Phillips, co-founder and CEO of IANS, “At the same time, we continue to see increased sophistication in digital security threats which is forcing information security teams to seek out the best intelligence from their peers.”
These trends provide IANS with an opportunity to further establish relationships and provide enhanced service offerings to its clients. The company’s unique peer-based service model draws together end-users, industry experts, industry analysts and vendors into a collaborative environment where knowledge sharing and real-world experiences provide the value-add needed to make smart, effective and efficient business decisions.
In response to client demand, IANS has also increased its sales team, and extended relationships with several vendors offering enhancements to the IANS services.
Following the success of the inaugural
The CISO Executive Summit (October 15, Parc 55 Hotel, San Francisco), throughout 2010 IANS will jointly produce 18 CISO Executive Summits in North America with
Evanta, an event and conference organization dedicated to creating and sustaining executive leadership networks for business leaders worldwide.
The CISO Executive Summit is an unparalleled conference that supports the needs of Chief Information Security Officers (CISO) from the region's largest organizations. The goal of the event is to provide a dynamic and relevant peer-to-peer exchange that facilitates best practices in enterprise technology management. The CISO Executive Summit is driven by a Governing Body of leading CISOs who play a vital role in the development of this conference. These CISOs create an agenda that addresses today's opportunities and challenges faced by their peers, thus delivering on the event promise, "by CISOs, for CISOs." Based on criteria developed by the Governing Body, speakers are invited in accordance with a highly selective nomination and qualification process. The Governing Body's goal is to ensure that the conference delivers valuable and useful information to all CISOs and IT executives who qualify to attend.
For information security professionals requiring the latest IT security threat updates and news, IANS now offers the IANS First Alert service – a risk intelligence early warning reporting system initially created by E-Secure-IT and offered by IANS to North America. IANS First Alert provides users with instantaneous alerts to the most important information security threats and news worldwide.
Phillips notes, “Combining Adam’s deep knowledge and experience, with the Evanta and E-Secure-IT relationships, we round out the IANS consultancy offerings by providing our clients with the perspectives, information, advice and experiences uniquely held by a seasoned IT security veteran and network of IT security service providers. We provide our clients with insight and opportunity to build peer relationships for a valuable exchange of ideas and knowledge transfer.”
