Agenda

IANS Opening Remarks and Introductions

9:15 AM - 10:00 AM

Industry Developments Session

Every year, there are industry trends, emerging threats and geopolitical events that impact CISOs. In this session, we bring in specialists – examples: lawyers serving the cyber sector, security researchers, experienced CISOs – to explore those topical matters, providing timely insights. Topics we’re planning to cover in 2021 include:

  • The SolarWinds attack and the threat of software supply chain attacks.
  • Mercenary hacking groups targeting executives and seeking to influence M&As and stock prices.
  • Emerging risk as businesses make decisions surrounding ongoing COVID-19 developments.

The discussions begin at a high level, focusing on the strategic aspects of industry developments, but quickly shift into practical actions that CISOs can take back to their environments.

10:00 AM - 10:10 AM

Solution Provider Case Study #1

10:10 AM - 10:55 AM

Leadership Session

This session covers leadership skills that position CISOs to manage their teams more effectively and develop the executive presence to succeed with management. It includes:

  • Teaching on leadership skills. Examples: Servant leadership, managing with empathy and handling crisis situations
  • Workshops, open Q&A, and similar opportunities to internalize the leadership discussions through interaction.
  • Group discussion on how to apply the leadership skills in concrete, actionable ways.
11:00 AM - 11:10 AM

Solution Provider Case Study #2

11:10 AM - 11:40 AM

IANS Faculty Session

At each IANS Forum, our Faculty members present on timely technical issues facing security teams. During this roundtable session, individual Faculty experts will elevate that conversation to cover the strategic angle CISOs must consider around technical threats and opportunities.

11:40 AM - 11:50 AM

Solution Provider Case Study #3

11:50 AM - 12:00 PM

Vendor Feedback Session

Throughout the roundtable, three vendors will provide short case studies showcasing how they believe their solutions can deliver value. The feedback session is a discussion of those case studies and solutions without the vendor present. It’s an opportunity to get inside intelligence on vendors you may be considering for your environment.

12:00 PM - 12:35 PM

Career Development Session

IANS is developing a CISO Competency Framework tracking the skills and competencies CISOs need to succeed as they mature in the role, both today and over the next 36 months. During this session, we’ll:

  • Share the highlights of this research.
  • Bring in experienced CISOs to discuss how they’ve developed new competencies over the course of their career.
  • Provide Q&A with executive recruiters so you can get feedback on how the market perceives these competencies and what you can do to demonstrate your capabilities.
