A Practical Approach to Zero Trust: Implementation

What you'll learn

Zero Trust is a modern security strategy that delivers demonstrably better results than traditional security models. Not only that, but when well-executed will also deliver end user and business benefits. However, Zero Trust isn’t always simple to understand, design for, and execute both technically and organizationally. Without a sound approach, a Zero Trust initiative risks becoming yet another distraction, which falls short of its intended goals and does nothing to measurably improve security. The stakes are too high, and information security is too important for this to happen.

This two-part course introduces a simple and structured blueprint for applying Zero Trust to the enterprise, delivered with an emphasis on rapid time-to-value and practical results. This course, Part 2, focuses on the roadmap definition and execution of Zero Trust within the enterprise. (Part 1 of this course covered planning, with an emphasis on organizational readiness and maturity assessment).

Attendees of this Part 2 course will learn the why and how of the full Zero Trust Blueprint, and gain the knowledge and skills to lead the creation and maintenance of a concrete and actionable Zero Trust roadmap for their enterprise. Via hands-on exercises with the provided tools and templates, they will be able to apply this proven framework in earnest to their enterprises after completing the course.

Specifically, upon successful completion, course attendees will:

  • Understand the core elements of the roadmap planning model, including Business Assets, Protect Surfaces, Transaction Flows, Access Policies, and Capabilities
  • Get hands-on experience applying this model through the course exercises
  • Be ready to lead the usage of this roadmap planning model within their enterprise
