Harden LLMs to Counteract Risk to Humans
Increased AI use – both internally and in customer-facing settings – is having troubling human consequences. The conversational traits of LLMs can lead to emotional bonding, sycophancy, anthropomorphism and perceived authority. This creates human risk factors. Employees can become overly dependent on AI answers and inadvertently manipulated into insider threats. Customers can be exposed to inappropriate content or, in extreme cases, convinced to harm themselves and others.
Infosec teams are often best positioned to understand the underlying systems that create these risks and mitigate them. In this session, IANS Faculty Wolf Goerlich pulls from practical research to:
