2023 Security Budget Benchmark Summary Report

In 2023, despite the global macroeconomic uncertainty and recessionary fears, security budgets generally continued to rise but at a lower rate than prior years and an insufficient rate relative to the increases in scope facing security teams.  New external pressures, including Generative AI and the new SEC Cyber rules, brought additional pressures as CISOs worked to find ways to justify necessary cyber investments to their boards and the C-suite.
