As Generative AI is rapidly becoming an influential tool for both enterprises and business users, enterprises must prepare now for widespread adoption and everyday usage among their employees. This challenge becomes exacerbated as technical controls are not currently up to the task to govern the use of AI that is often embedded within applications and other websites.

This document provides enterprises with a policy template detailing acceptable use of generative AI. It is intended to be read and understood by all employees and can be used internally to govern generative AI use by employees and contractors, as well as by third parties to guide them in how to protect enterprise data entrusted to them.
